Welcome to St. Dominic Priory

The priory is the basic residential unit for Dominicans.  Because a priory is the center of Dominican preaching, study, and prayer, our decision to purchase and renovate the former Loretto Academy is a watershed moment.  For the first time in St. Louis, we will have our own residence.  This will not only provide for growing numbers of new friars, but will also provide a contemplative space in the midst of a busy and noisy city.

This website will introduce you to the new St. Dominic Priory, which serves as a joint formation community for the Dominican Provinces of St. Martin dePorres and St. Albert the Great.

The following pages will show you the history of this architecturally significant building, as well as various aspects of our life as Dominicans.  It will also provide our friends and donors with a variety of gift opportunities.
