Aaron Arce, O.P. was born in Kingsville, TX on May 12, 1944 and went to his eternal rest on Oct. 9, 2012 in St. Louis, MO.  He is predeceased in death by his parents, Hilario and Maria De La Rosa Arce and his brother, Arnoldo.  He is survived by three brothers, Alonzo, Armand and Arturo Arce.

Fr. Aaron entered the Dominican Order in 1976 joining the Province of St. Albert the Great (Central Province).  He was ordained to the priesthood on Nov. 1, 1980.  He joined the Province of St. Martin de Porres (Southern Province) when it was formed in 1979.

Throughout most of his ministerial career he served on college campuses, serving at Aquinas Newman Center (Albuquerque, N.M.), Catholic Newman Association at the University of Houston, Barry University (Miami, FL) and Holy Name College (Oakland, CA).  He also served as Prior of several of the priories and as Assistant Student Master and Director of Pre-Novitiate.  In addition, he served as Chaplain at hospitals.  His last ministry was at St. Andrew Catholic Church in St. Louis, MO.  Our deepest sympathies to Fr. Aaron’s brothers and to all his extended family members.  We, your Dominican brothers and sisters, miss you and we love you our beloved Fr. Aaron.

In lieu of flowers, donations in Fr. Aaron’s memory can be mailed to the Southern Dominican Province, 1421 N. Causeway Blvd., Suite 200, Metairie, LA 70001.
